Launched in 2000, the region's highly successful One Big Campus initiative is a multi-tiered collaborative effort to put Philadelphia on the map for national and international students alike. Today, Philly is recognized as one of the country's leading education centers, second only to Boston among big cities. This effort has since been expanded into a broader workforce development project (the Knowledge Industry Partnership) with the "Philadelphia is one BIG campus" message serving as its central theme.
